             The HortiScience Innovation Center (HIC) in the Netherlands launched the HIC Venture Studio, the first venture studio dedicated to greenhouse horticulture. This initiative aims to create three startups annually, focusing on sustainability, labour, and productivity challenges. Entrepreneurs retain ownership and benefit from shared infrastructure, enhancing innovation speed and sector value. Backed by partners like Wageningen University and regional support, the studio strengthens the region's innovative capacity, with a €1.15 million investment and a focus on six strategic themes.

             Swedish agtech firm Arevo has secured €7.3 million to expand its bio-based fertiliser production, which uses arginine to enhance root development and reduce nitrogen leaching, thereby improving yields and cutting emissions. Planning to enter Brazil's soy market by 2027, Arevo's seed coating, Arevo Booster, has shown a yield boost of 4-6% per hectare in field trials across 16 countries, offering a sustainable alternative to synthetic fertilisers.
