Innovation in Action Tour – UC Davis Animal Agriculture Facilities


Tuesday March 19, 2024

Join us for an exciting Innovation in Action tour of the UC Davis animal agriculture facilities, showcasing cutting-edge research in methane reduction and the excellence of their Animal Science program. During the tour, you will have the chance to explore the UC Davis Beef Barn and visit the Robert Mondavi Institute.

Guided by UC Davis faculty experts, this tour is a fantastic opportunity to get up close with the latest innovations in agriculture, connect with industry peers, and gather insights to further your own professional objectives.

Transport and a boxed lunch are included in the tour price of USD $295. 


Tour Itinerary

12:00pm Meet in San Francisco Marriott Marquis Hotel Lobby

12:15pm Travel to UC Davis
Frank Mitloehner, Professor at UC Davis will give an overview of the facilities during the journey. A lunch box will be provided.

2:00pm Arrive at UC Davis’ Beef Barn and Visit Site
Take a walking tour of the bovine bubbles and greenfeed machines. Students will deliver interactive lightning talks around the Beef Barn.

3:00pm Drive to the Robert Mondavi Institute

3:10pm Refreshments Served and Tour of the Robert Mondavi Institute and Milk Processing Laboratory
Lightning talks around Milk Processing Lab Facilities, led by Professors Daniela Barile and Juliana Maria Leite Nobrega deMoura Bell.

4:05pm Drive to Dairy

4:20pm Tour Dairy
Led by Dr. Ermias Kebreab

5:15pm Load Bus for Departure Back to San Francisco Marriott Marquis

It’s important to note that biosecurity measures are in place for the safety of the UC Davis facilities. International visitors from outside the continental United States will be subject to a 7-day residency requirement in the U.S. before they can access the animal facilities. For those who have recently travelled from overseas and do not meet this eligibility criterion, alternative arrangements will be made within the site visit to ensure they still have a valuable experience.
