T.R. Lansford

Deputy Executive Director & Assistant State Veterinarian , TEXAS ANIMAL HEALTH COMMISSION

Dr. TR Lansford earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University and has been involved in regulatory veterinary medicine most of his career. He has served the state of Texas gaining regulatory, public health, and veterinary medicine expertise through the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Meat Safety Assurance Section as Assistant State Director, the Texas Animal Health Commission as a region director and assistant executive director, as a Foreign Animal Disease Diagnostician, and emergency management and industry liaison for over 24 years. Dr. Lansford returned to the TAHC in early 2024 to serve as the assistant state veterinarian and deputy executive director for the agency.

Dr. Lansford, a South Texas native, and his wife, Christy, a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent, enjoy spending time with their two sons, Buddy and Byron.
