Renée Vassilos is a Dutch-American Agricultural Economist with twenty years of global large-scale production agriculture operations, investor relations, and investment experience. She is a recognized critical thinker on how innovation will transform agribusiness and the farm towards a regenerative model. Her thinking has been informed by her time with USDA, decade with John Deere, leadership role with The Nature Conservancy and running her investment advisory business, Banyan Innovation Group.

Renée built and led The Nature Conservancy’s first direct venture investing strategy which included direct investments in eight agriculture technology companies with the potential to scale the adoption of soil health building practices profitably on farm and ranch. The strategy also included setting up pilots to test technologies and innovation solutions on farm for impact and business outcomes.

Renée also serves as a Board Director for Seedlinked, the future of seed, GrainPro, Ultra-Hermetic™ dry good and seed storage solution, as an advisor to Agtonomy, agriculture equipment agnostic autonomy and as an Investment Committee member for Builders Visions Impact Investing Fund.

Renée has lived and worked in Amsterdam and Beijing contributing to her robust global experience, cultural competence, and network. She has a BS and MS in Agricultural Economics from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and University of California, Davis, respectively.
