Dr. Ligia Cavani serves as Chief Research Scientist at C-Lock, where she leads research that transforms real-time, high-frequency livestock measurements—emissions, feed intake, and body weight—into insights that support more efficient and sustainable production. She brings more than a decade of experience in quantitative genetics and genomics in beef and dairy cattle. Dr. Cavani earned her M.S. and Ph.D. from São Paulo State University (Brazil) and moved to the U.S. as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where her research centered on phenotype development using high-throughput datasets and the use of genomic prediction to improve feed efficiency in dairy cattle.
