João Dorea
Joao Dorea is an Associate Professor in Precision Agriculture and Data Analytics at the Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences (UW-Madison). He is also an Affiliate faculty member in the Department of Biological Systems Engineering and Data Science Institute. Joao’s research is focused on digital technology and predictive analytics to optimize farm management decisions. He is interested in large-scale development and implementation of artificial intelligence systems including computer vision, natural language processing, wearable sensors, and infrared spectroscopy to monitor animals in livestock farms. His research group has been working diligently towards advancing the use of these digital technologies to improve animal welfare, production efficiency, and sustainability of livestock systems.
